ST PETER’S PARISH ALTAR NOTICES

Ascension of the Lord – 21 May 2023

  1. The collection last Sunday amounted to €2,944. The Sunday Collection is taken up in the church porches on entry to and exit from Mass.  Many thanks for your great generosity and your use of the parish envelope.  A user-friendly Tap to Donate card machine stands at the entrances of both churches.

  2. Rosary and Benediction this evening (Sunday) in St Peter’s Church at 5.00pm.

  3. There is a second envelope this weekend for the Armagh Central Diocesan Fund. This envelope goes towards the running of the Diocesan Curia in Armagh, its safeguarding and youth offices, and the Diocesan Pastoral Office and its initiatives, including the Synodal Way.

  4. Knights of Columbanus churchgate collection this weekend in aid of several local charities.

  5. We are delighted to announce the launch of a Youth Group for young people aged 13 – 17, bringing young people together in faith, prayer, spiritual growth and lots of fun! The leaders will speak at all Masses this weekend or next. St Peter’s Parish is committed to best safeguarding practice.

  6. Youth members from the Neocatechumenal Way in the Armagh Diocese will sell booklets and candles this weekend (20th/21st May) after Masses in Our Lady of Lourdes Church as a fundraiser to attend the World Youth Day in Lisbon in August, and next weekend in St Peter’s Church.

  1. Welcome to Archbishop Eamon who will administer Confirmation in Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Friday.

  1. The monthly Mass in honour of St Oliver Plunkett will be celebrated next Saturday in St Peter’s at 6.15pm.

  1. The May Family Mass takes place in Our Lady of Lourdes Church next Sunday, 10.30am.

  1. Annual Armagh Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock, led by Archbishop Eamon Martin, on Saturday 3rd June. A coach will leave Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 7.45am. Cost €25. Booking details in the Newsletter.

  2. St Anthony’s Novena will take place in St Peter’s Church from Monday, 5 June to Tuesday, 13 June.

  3. Cemetery Sunday will take place as usual, on the last Sunday of June, this year 25th June, in St Peter’s Cemetery at 3.00pm, and Newtown Cross Cemetery at 5.00pm.
