 5th Sunday Ordinary Time – 5 January 2023

  1. The collection last Sunday amounted to €3,191. The Sunday Collection is taken up in the church porches on entry to and exit from Mass.  Many thanks for your great generosity and your use of the parish envelope.  A user-friendly Tap to Donate card machine stands at the entrances of both churches.

  1. The St Vincent de Paul monthly church gate collection will take place at all Masses this weekend. Local needs are great at this time

  2. Parishioners may wear face masks as they see fit, and sanitise their hands on entry into the church. Please be mindful of social distancing. Holy Communion is received on the hand only.

  3. Rosary and Benediction this evening, Sunday, at 5.00pm in St Peter’s Church.

  1. Paul Clayton-Lea will present his book, C S Lewis and the Wee County, and be available to sign copies after the 7.00pm Vigil Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church Saturday 4th February, and also today, Sunday, 5th February following 11.00am Mass in St. Peter’s.

  1. No 8.30am Mass in St Peter’s Church tomorrow, Monday, due to Bank Holiday. 10.00am and 10.30am Masses as usual.

  1. Closing date for completed applications for St Peter’s Parish Common Application and Enrolment for Junior Infants 2023 is Tuesday coming, 7 February, 12 noon. Full details in the Parish Newsletter.

  1. Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes will be celebrated in Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Saturday coming, 11th February, at the 10.00am Mass. As it is World Day of the Sick individual anointing of the sick will take place at the Mass.   Special Lourdes candles available in Our Lady of Lourdes Church (€2 each, or 3 for €5).  These candles may be safely used in your home, or left in the basket provided in the Church.  Candles will be lit on the Feast Day at the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes for your intentions

  1. LMFM will record the 6.15pm Mass on Saturday evening, 11th February from St Peter’s Church. It will be broadcast on LMFM radio the following morning, Sunday 12th February at 9.00am. St Peter’s Male Voice Choir will sing.

  2. Please bring home the missalette you have used at Mass.  Newsletter is available at the back of the church.
